Since my last post was Mother’s Day, I guess it is fitting that today is Father’s Day! It is a “different” Father’s Day for me; last year we celebrated the day and two days later I was in the hospital for the next two weeks. And that is just insane. Even now the thought of it all makes my head spin. As time moves on, so does the amount of time you spend thinking about it and dwelling on it. But as the one-year anniversary is now knocking at the door, I find I am forced to think back and reflect on everything that happened – only now with a year’s distance to help provide perspective.

There is no way I can host a cookout AND get such a post written today; I’ll need a week or so to gather my thoughts and organize them. So fair warning dear reader, the next post will probably be long and focused on this important (to me) anniversary. In the interim – Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there as well as to the single parent mom’s who are filling both roles. Enjoy your special day and stay well dear reader!!
